"O Come, O Come Emmanuel"  Out Now

11/1/2019

Now that Halloween is over, it's time for holiday music, right? (Maybe not for you, but hey, the hallmark channel has been airing holiday movies since July, so I think I'm actually behind schedule). Anyway, here is a new-to-you recording of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” - I recorded this all the way back in 2011 at The Smoakstack down in Nashville, TN with my friend Justin March (who produced my record, The Simple Fear). I’m so excited to finally share this with you! Listen now and/or add it to your holiday playlist for later :) https://tonetree.ffm.to/emmanuel

Collided (Piano Version) Out Now!

10/11/2019

More music in the world alert! This is a special one for so many reasons. One of my favorite songs to play live has been transformed a bit, by one of my best friends Mark Ramsey. When Mark & I met in Pittsburgh a several years ago, we were both already fans of each other's songwriting. We began playing music together shortly after & our mutual respect has continued to grow. He recently recorded a piano arrangement of "Collided" at his house and sent it to me. I loved the vibe instantly. I recorded vocals at my house, and sent it to my friend Ariel to mix. The result is this wide open, vulnerable feeling version that I hope you'll enjoy, wherever you like to listen...

Hey, it’s my birthday!! ...And I’ve got a surprise release for you! I’ve been working on my home recording set up all year and I recently recorded an acoustic version of “Glow” in my home studio. It’s out TODAY! This is how Glow was when I wrote it - just a simple little acoustic song - before it evolved into the synthy pop song it became on the record.

Click to listen wherever you listen!

“Glow (Acoustic)” was mixed by my friend Ariel Bernstein and mastered by Pete Morse of Red Vault Audio.  Oh yeah, and I took this cover photo in Hilton Head, SC last month on vacation with my family.

HOLD TO THE LIGHT REMIXED EP1

Hold to the Light Remixed EP1
Throughout the month of March, I released one remix per week - select songs from my latest record Hold to the Light. The whole remix project started after a fan reached out offering to remix “Underneath” …And what Syntheatrics did with this delicate acoustic song was really beautiful, surprising & hypnotizing. It inspired me to reach out and collaborate with more remixers: Jeremy McDonald, Semblance, & Robinson Brakebill, and visual artists: Sarah Megyesy & Evan McCandless to present them in an insteresting way. The entire 4 song remix EP, which includes reimagined versions of Distraction, Collided, Hold to the Light & Underneath, is out now. Check out the visual representations below, that include a magical crayon melting session & animated album art icons...

"Collided (Semblance Remix)" out now

“Collided” from my latest record has been remixed by Semblance & is out now. Here’s how this fascinatingly fun visual representation was made:

"One afternoon in the High Plains of Eastern Colorado, in a large prairie land workshop Sarah Megyesy
took a blow torch to crayons to create the visuals for the “Collided (Semblance Remix)”. She stripped the crayons of their paper cover, lined them up and melted them one by one onto a piece of poster board creating a spectacle of color."

Check out the whole video below / listen to the remixes wherever you like to listen to things.

When recording of my album Hold to the Light wrapped, we shot this series of solo electric videos right there in the studio. Continuing with the series today is "Underneath" - the 4th and final video in the series. This one may be my favorite of them all.
